iLead is a leadership development program that was designed to cultivate students to be influential leaders. Previously only a certain number of students were allowed in the program. This year at Harrisburg Elementary every fifth grade student is involved in iLead. They receive iLead lessons in Ms. Massie's leadership special class. The fifth grade teachers are also going over leadership skills every day in their classrooms. Each iLead student is required to participate in service projects inside of school and in the community. At school they participate in projects like safety patrol, recycling, cafeteria clean up, library and office help, as well as reading with our Kindergarten students. Each fifth grade classroom will also choose a service project outside of school. They will develop a plan to help serve their chosen project and throughout the school year they will work on this project. They will present the project at the end of year graduation. iLead is a program that teaches the students to live their life with discipline, courage and integrity.
