Updated Information for Reserving the HES Spirit Rocks Effective for the 2024-2025 School Year

HES has two (2) Spirit Rocks that can be reserved to be painted.  When choosing which rock you would like to reserve, please consider how your child arrives and leaves school.

  • Car Rider Rock (located at the car rider line)

  • Bus Rider Rock (located near the teacher and bus parking lot)

Only one person per day may reserve each of the Spirit Rocks. Once reserved, you will have that rock for 24 hours beginning at 4:00 PM the day before. (For example, if you reserve a rock for August 15, your reservation will begin at 4:00 PM on August 14 and run through 4:00 PM on August 15.)

  • Cost - $10 per day + $10 PTO Membership

Process to Reserve the HES Spirit Rock

1.  Please check the calendar (HERE) to see if your desired date(s) is available. Only one person can hold a reservation for either of the spirit rocks per day.  Dates do fill up quickly so be sure to request and pay ASAP. Your request is not confirmed until you receive an email confirmation from the spirit rock coordinator.

2.  Click on the Pay4School link (HERE) to process your request and pay for your desired date.  Select your student's name, then choose the "PTO Spirit Rock" selection.  PLEASE NOTE - Anyone reserving the spirit rock must also be a member of the PTO.  This will allow the PTO to better manage the rock by ensuring that you get all communications pertaining to both the PTO and your spirit rock reservation.  If you have not yet joined the PTO, you can do so at the same time you are reserving the spirit rock by choosing the "PTO Membership" selection. All payments must be received through the Pay4School link - no cash or checks will be accepted.

3.  Once your request is submitted, you will receive an email confirming that you are reserved for the date(s) and rock(s) requested. If by chance there is more than one request for the same date and rock, you will be contacted by the Spirit Rock coordinator and either arrangements will be made for another date or a refund will be processed.  

Additional Rules/Guidelines:

  • Your reservation is for 24 hours from 4:00 PM the day before your reservation until 4:00 PM the day of your reservation.  (Ex-If you book the rock for August 15, then your reservation will be from 4:00 PM on August 14 until 4:00 PM on August 15.)

  • Please be sure to double check the reservation confirmation for date/time/rock reserved and only paint the rock within that time frame.  If you think you will need more time, please consider reserving an additional day to allow for the extra time needed.  No more than 2 days can be reserved per student to ensure everyone gets an opportunity to reserve that wants to.  Even if the calendar shows that a date is available, we kindly ask that you do not paint the rock outside of your reserved time.

  • The PTO/school is not responsible for painting the rock; however, we will be glad to give recommendations for local artists that you can hire if you wish.  If you choose to paint the rock yourself, plan to have at least 2-3 cans of spray paint to cover the rock, especially if you are painting over a darker color.

  • All rules as outlined in the LCSD student rights, responsibilities, and character development handbook and Code of Student Conduct MUST be obeyed. No exceptions. (No bullying, profanity, obscenity, or derogatory language.)

  • Reservations are non refundable.

  • Have fun!!  We love seeing all of the creative rocks that celebrate your student!!
