Tomahawk Nation!

Happy Sunday! Thank you for another GREAT week! Hard to believe we are at the TWO WEEK point! We have a lot of great things coming up and we are excited to finish the year strong!

Parents check out the survey at the bottom of this week’s email. We want to hear from YOU. If you can take a minute to reflect on your child’s experience over the past year and dreamcast a little for next year, we would greatly appreciate it. As always, our goal is to provide each child with the best experience we can at Harrisburg and that is only possible with your input as well.

3rd Grade is headed to Columbia this week to visit our state capital. We know they will represent us well. 2nd Grade is headed to the Riverbanks Zoo on Friday. This is a fan favorite field trip and we know the kids will have a great time!

Hope everyone has a great rest of your weekend. Looking forward to seeing you this week!

Love. Learn. Lead.

Ms. Dalton

From Nurse Ann

If your student has medication in the nurse’s office, this needs to be picked up by 1100 on Friday, May 31st. If the medication is not picked up by this time it will be discarded. I will NOT be keeping medication over the summer break. Medication cannot be sent home with students, it must be picked up by an adult.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Have a great and safe summer!

Medication Procedure Change

We are strongly committed to the health, safety and wellbeing of our students. This is best achieved when we work in partnership with you, physicians and where possible, your children. Our school has Guidelines for School Administration of Medication to ensure the safe administration of medication to students during the school day. Any medication, prescription or over-the-counter, must be delivered to the school nurse by the parent or legal guardian. Please do not send medication with the student. Prescription medication must be in the original labeled container provided by the pharmacist. Over-the-counter medication must be in the original, unopened container with manufacturer’s label. Medication to be given at school must be accompanied by the Permission for School Administration of Medication form. A separate form must be completed for each medication. Beginning next school year, a doctor’s signature is required for prescription medications. Click here to view and print out the form

Parents are responsible for informing the school of their child’s potential for anaphylaxis and providing ongoing health information and necessary medical supplies. If your child has been prescribed emergency medication, such as an EpiPen or a rescue inhaler, please notify the school and provide medication to the nurse to have on site. A student may not carry medication on their person without physician permission, parent permission and school district permission to self-administer and self-monitor. If you would like to request your child carry their own EpiPen or rescue inhaler, please contact your school nurse.

Lancaster County School District nurses are dedicated to meeting your child’s healthcare needs in a safe manner. Please contact your child’s school nurse with questions or concerns.
